The
International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is a 13-digit number that
individually identifies each book published. An ISBN allows
efficient marketing and cataloguing of books by booksellers,
libraries, distributors, etc. Many of these places do not accept
books without an ISBN.
We
obtain your ISBN from a US based agency but ISBNs are valid in most
countries.
The cost
of obtaining an ISBN and Barcode in the United States can cost up to
US$150.00.

Custom Cover Art
We will design a
book cover for you using photographs or simple graphics and all
necessary text. You can make up to three alterations to our design,
e.g. you may want the title in a different font, etc. If you have
your own original photograph or artwork which you would like to use
you can send it to us to be incorporated into the design.
The cost of cover
art is US$210.00 and up.
Author’s Bio and Story Teaser Prepared from Your Information
When you send us
your manuscript, we also ask that you send a one page synopsis of the
book. This we will condense into one or two paragraphs to be used as
a blurb on the inside and on the back cover.
A short Bio of you
is also very useful. Include whatever information you think is
relevant to your topic. This information will appear along with
your photo, if desired, at the end of the book. An “About the
Author” page can help to sell your book, particularly if you are an
unknown writer.
The cost of a
professionally written Blurb is US$70 and up.
Basic Formatting of Your Book
We will format your
book to make sure contents page, copyright information, title page,
etc are in the accepted format. (This does not include editing or
copyediting of your
book).
The cost of
formatting your Book is US$150.00 for works up to 250 pages.
eBook Edition of Your Book
We will convert your
book to .pdf so that it is easily readable on any computer. The copy
will be e-mailed to you if size allows. Otherwise it will be
mailed to you on CD.
The cost of your
eBook Edition is US$25.

Perfect-bound Paperback Copies of Your Book
Five professionally
printed copies of your book will be mailed to you. Books will have a
full colour cover with inside material and images printed in black and white.
We will recommend a format based on the genre of your book. The most
popular is perfect bound 4.18”
x 6.88” mass
market paperback. However ring bound or saddle stitched (centre
stapled like a magazine or comic book) are also available. You will
also be able to buy more copies singly if desired directly from the
printers' website. It is usually
most economical with conventional book printers to have volumes
printed in lots of 1000. However, our system allows us to have
single copies printed for between $10-$22 each depending on size and
format. We are not affiliated with the printers in any way
whatsoever so, after you receive your 5 copies, you may at any time
decide to retain them or switch to another service.

Paperback Books is US$50 and up.
Splash Page on Our Website
We will design and
publish on our associated website,
Reader's Treasury, one page promoting your book with author information
and a link directly to the printers so that your customers can
purchase directly from them. Once you sign up with us we will send
you information on opening an account with the printers so that
profits come directly to you. We allow you to make up to two changes
to the design of your page on our website. This page will remain
online for one full year.

"Help! I'm
an Author" Booklet
Our Booklet “Help!
I’m an Author” contains useful information to help you get your book
sold. These include suggestions on promoting locally as well as
information on listing on
Google, using Amazon Kindle, etc.

You own all rights to your Work
At no time do you
assign any rights to us. All rights to your original work remain
your property at all times.
No
publication or registration or other action in a Copyright Office is
required to secure copyright. Copyright is secured automatically
when the work is created, and a work is “created” when it is fixed
in a copy or phonorecord for the first time. However, you may still
wish to register your book with the Library of Congress or other
local copyright authority. We do not provide this service.

You earn all the Profits
There
are hundreds of websites which allow you to publish your own book.
These are generally referred to as POD sites. They offer all sorts
of promotions and listings in catalogues, but you pay for each of
these services. With a traditional publisher they pay for the
promotion but your book has to be accepted by them first. So called
“Vanity Presses” print your book then you’re on your own.
Most POD
sites are structured so that you earn a set amount on your sales and
they make the real profits. These sites also offer ISBN numbers,
often at a lower price than you can buy them for at the authorised
ISBN agencies. This is because they buy in bulk and the numbers you
buy from them have them as the publisher.
Once you have
received your package from us and paid in full it is up to you to
promote your book. We do not guarantee sales or listings on any
website except for your Splash Page on our website which is a part of our
agreement. The reasons for this is simple: it allows us to spend
more time at the start of the project making sure that you have the
design and layout that is right for your book and our Hints & Tips booklet
will advise you how to promote your book. Many POB websites that list
your book will do so in their name so that they collect the profits
and pass on to you only what they decide to.
The total cost of
doing everything listed above individually would be at least US$895.
But
our special package will cost you only US$599!
A deposit of US$300,
sent through Paypal, is required in advance.
The balance of US$299 is due once we have sent your ISBN/Barcode,
Cover Art and eBook edition.
