Before You Submit Your Manuscript

Manuscript should be written as a Word document.

Serif typestyles are the convention for books; these include Garamond, Baskerville, Palatino and Times Roman.  Using serif types makes the book more readable and presents more professionally. Sans serif typestyles such as Arial, Verdana and Helvetica may also be used.

Use 10-12 point type to write your Manuscript. Smaller than 10pt makes the book difficult to read. A larger type may be used for children's books.

Please use Chapter Numbers or Titles. Use a type one or two sizes larger than that which the body of the book is written in. Start each new chapter on an odd numbered page.

Please proofread your manuscript at least twice, or have someone read it for you, to correct any spelling or grammatical errors, etc, before submitting it. We can also proofread/copyedit your manuscript for a small additional charge.

Avoid using multiple fonts or "Word Art" unless relevant to your topic.

Although the Cover will be printed in Colour, The body of the book is in black and white. If you are using any coloured photographs or illustrations make sure they present clearly if converted to black and white. Colour photos sometimes look "muddy" when converted to black and white.

Send any photos or illustrations as a separate .jpg  file. 1400x2200 in size with a resolution of 200-300dpi. Photographs or illustrations must be original works and not copied from another source. Stock photos or clip art purchased from an online source must be accompanied by proof that you have acquired them legally.

Send along with your manuscript a one to two page document giving us any information about yourself, your book, what inspired you to write or any other relevant information. List any other books or articles you have written. This information will be condensed into a short Promotional Blurb for the back cover and an About the Author for the back page.

Once we have done the basic formatting and converted your manuscript into an Adobe.pdf it will be returned to you. If you make any editorial changes after this point an additional US$25 will be charged for each time we have to reformat the manuscript.
